Acianthus sinclairii Plant: typically in dense colonies, slender 2–10cm tall with a distinctive heart-shaped leaf part way up the stem. Flowers: up to 10 translucent, green flowers with a maroon labellum. Flowering: May to October. Habitat: open lowland scrub and forest and track sides. Often with Cyrtostylis rotundifolia or Pterostylis alobula nearby. Widespread throughout. Conservation: common, locally abundant; not threatened. Notes: Difficult to distinguish from Corybas acuminatus when in leaf. Key features: thin heart-shaped leaf, acute dorsal sepal. |
