Caladenia alpina Plant:5 - 20cm tall when in flower. Leaves: up to 1cm wide, usually covered in hairs. Flowers: 1 to 3, though usually only one or two. 2 -3cm across. White or pinkish in colour with 4 to 6 rows of yellow calli on the broad labellum. Flowering: November - January. Habitat: High altitude scrub and grasslands. Conservation: Not known Notes: Possibly the Australian species? Flowers larger, broader than Caladenia lyallii usually with 6 rows of calli on the labellum and broader petals. Key features: larger flower with 6 rows of calli and broad tepals? - need to clarify! |
