Plant: 3 - 6cm high when in flower. Leaves 2.5 x 2cm or smaller, orbicular to oblong-oval. Shortly petiolate.

Flowers: Flower above the leaf but separating below. 10-15cm tall. Dorsal sepal very long and usually arches upward clear of the labellum, yellowish-green, sometimes flecked with purplish-red. Labellum broadly flared, yellowish-green with purplish-red markings and a tapered apex. Lateral sepals long, yellowish-green, Petals much shorter than lateral sepals.

Flowering: October - November.

Habitat: Very wet sites in montane to sub-alpine wetlands.

Conservation: At Risk - Naturally Uncommon.

Notes: Recorded from Mt Ruapehu and the Southern Tararua Range. C. dienemus?

Key features: flowers above the leaf but separating from below, pale widely open labellum.
