Plant: Up to 30cm tall. About half the size of true Pterostylis banksii. Leaves grassy, usually 4 - 6, often keeled. Flowers: 25 - 30 cm tall. Dorsal sepal very long, petals much shorter than the dorsal sepal. Lateral sepals diverge at a narrow angle, tips very long and erect, tips often tinged with orange. Flowering: October - December. Habitat: Light forest and scrub. Common around Wellington, and apparently found elsewhere. Conservation: Not Recorded. Notes: Resembles a small Pterostylis banksii flower. May be Pterostylis emarginata. Key features: small flower, erect lateral sepals, short narrow petals with tips free from labellum. |
