Plant: to 30 cm tall. Leaves 10-20cm x 10-12 mm, distinctively long, broad, arched and clasping the stem.

Flowers: medium sized 20-30 mm tall. Lateral sepals flattened below and towards the junction, strongly tapered and much taller than the dorsal sepal. Labellum arched and tapering but not twisted.

Flowering: October to November.

Habitat: heavily shaded forest.

Conservation: scattered, not threatened.

Notes: flower like P. montana but labellum tapered, lateral sepals well above the dorsal and shortly acuminate like the dorsal sepal.

Key features: medium sized flower, broad arching leaves, lateral sepals flat below and above their junction but with rolled reddish tips.
