Taeniophyllum norfolkianum
Plant: a tiny epiphyte with no leaves but green creeping 2mm wide rhizomes radiating out 30 to 50cm. Flowers: form a 2mm long white tube. Buds flowers and fruit may occur at the same time. Habitat: epiphyte on gorse and feijoa. Flowering: November. Conservation: only two Northland sites both on introduced trees. Notes: small and easily missed, it may be more widespread. Key features: small leafless epiphyte as clumps of fine white roots. |
