Thelymitra imberbis
Sun Orchid ![]() Plant: Leaves: narrow and almost cylindrical, channelled along the upper surface. Flowers: 1 - 3 to 1cm across, yellow. Column yellow, top deeper yellow. Column arms deep yellow and lack any cilia. Flowering: September - November. Habitat: Scrubland and dry clay banks. Favours infertile sandy silt tracks through tea tree scrub in more open sunlight than normal Thelymitra carnea. Conservation: Not Recorded. Rare. Notes: regarded as only yellow colour form of T. carnea and not currently recognised as as distinct species. Key features: tepals yellow, naked column arms, open, ragged column top. |
