Thelymitra sanscilia Plant: tall with rusty red stems and an erect green leaf. Flowers: Up to 12, blue to pink, sometimes white, often strongly veined, occasionally clear pink overall. Column top is arched over, thick margined, edged with yellow or orange and broadly cleft. Column arms sickle-shaped with few or no cilia. Habitat: lowland scrub and clay areas. Northland, local, rare. Flowering: October. Conservation: uncommon. Notes: regarded aspart of the variation in T. pauciflora. and not currently accepted as a species Key features: column top yellow or orange, lack of cilia, rounded column top. |
